英语专八考试报考条件为：

1、必须是经教育部备案或者批准的高等院校中：即2005年入学的英语专业四年级本科生。(考生类型的编号则为“40”)

2、必须是经教育部批准有学历的成人高等教育学院(以下简称成教院)中：2005年入学的四年制即脱产学习的英语专业(大四)本科生：2004年入学的五年制即不脱产学习的英语专业(第五学年)本科生。(考生类型的编号则为“50”)

3、在重点外语类院校中，2005年入学的、并且以专业英语作为第二学位且 英语6级考试到达600分或600分以上(相当于优秀)的四年级本科生。(考生类型的编号则为“60”)

4、曾经参加过2008年TEM8统测但是没有通过的2002级英语专业学生可以参加此次补考，但只有这一次补考机会，不参加则为自动放弃，补考机会不顺延。(考生类型的编号则为“70”)

PS：重点外语类院校是指北京外国语大学，北京第二外国语学院，对外经济贸易大学，广东外语外贸大学，天津外国语学院，大连外国语学院，上海外国语大学，四川外语大学，西安外国语大学等15所院校。
