DFS（Distrbuted File System）即分布式文件系统，主要用于解决把分散的共享资源进行集中管理的问题。 分布式文件系统（DFS）提供了以下3个重要特性： （1）容易访问文件。分布式文件系统使用户可以更容易地访问文件。即使文件可能在物理上跨越多个服务器，用户也只需要转到网络上的某个位置即可访问文件。更改共享文件夹的物理位置是不会影响用户访问文件夹的。 （2）可用性。基于域的DFS以两种方法确保用户保持对文件的访问。首先，操作系统自动将DFS拓扑发布到Active Directory中，这确保DFS拓扑对域中所有服务器上的用户总是可见的。 （3）服务器负载平衡。DFS根目录可以支持物理上通过网络分别的多个DFS共享文件夹。
